The area of cultivating sugar cane throughout Thanh Hoa province is more than 30.000 ha, of which over 30 thousand households farm sugar cane and more than 45 thousands of laborers have their jobs. Sugar cane has proved its function in poverty reduction and improved life for tens of thousands of households, facilitated the development of culture, society, education, medicine, and has changed the rural area as well as mountainous midland districts in Thanh Hoa Province. With 30 years of establishment and development, Lasuco have always cooperated with the farmers in Lam Son sugar cane area. At present, the principal limitations of such cultivators are great numbers, poorness, division and their disadvantageous position.
