Signing Ceremony between EVN and Lasuco

At the Office of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) No. 11, Cua Bac, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi took place the signing ceremony of the Electricity Purchase Agreement between Lam Lam Cement Joint Stock Company Son (LASUCO) and Electricity Trading Company under the Electricity of Vietnam. Attending and witnessing the ceremony were Mr. Le Van Tam – Labor Hero – Chairman of LASUCO Board and Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan – Deputy Secretary of EVN Party Committee together with key staffs of two companies. Accordingly, LASUCO will sell electricity to the grid at 18.8MW at 5.8 Cent / KWh.

As part of its business strategy since 2011, LASUCO has invested in a new 12.5MW thermal power plant. The Ministry of Industry and Trade also issued Decision No. 4936 / QD-BCT dated 28 September 2011 approving the addition of a renewable energy plant using bagasse – Lam Son II sugar plant into the Electricity Development Plan Thanh Hoa province 2011-2015 with vision to 2020.

The project has been completed and put into operation since March 2012 and since then has continuously increased the output of electricity for production and sale to the grid.

Policies and mechanisms of the Government and related ministries have led LASUCO to accelerate the development of green energy and efficiency. On March 24, 2014, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 24/2014 / QD-TTg on the mechanism to support the development of biomass projects in Vietnam. Accordingly, the price of biomass electricity for the national grid is 5.8 Cent / kWh (VAT rate). The Ministry of Industry and Trade has also issued Official Letter No. 13250 / BCT-TCNL dated 30/12/2014 on the application of the mechanism to support the development of biomass power projects for power plants using bagasse.

Recognizing that the development of renewable electricity production along with the sugar cane production is a strength of the sugar mills, in 2015 LASUCO continues to invest in installing a 15MW turn and 15MW generator system. put into operation from the end of the fourth quarter of 2015, bringing the total installed capacity of Lam Son thermal power plant to 33.5MW.

Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company was officially licensed to operate electricity: 124 / GP – DTDL dated 07/9/2015 is one of the necessary conditions for LASUCO to produce and sell electricity to Tap Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company strives to achieve annual production of 75-100 million KWh of electricity, contributing significantly to LASUCO’s competitiveness and sustainable green development in the period of economic integration.
